Job Description

The design, fabrication and supply of Covid-19 safety screens for all the reception desks within the Royal Surrey Hospital in Guildford.

Scope of Works:

We were approached by the hospital to assist. We collaborated with various department heads from Paediatric, Gynaecology, Oncology to Radiotherapy wards. The works includes the completion of A&E’s main desks and the production of generic screens in 5mm clear acrylic. They were mounted with aluminium supports and frame works that allowed individual adjustments as each station was a different shape which required differing access points and payment slots. All frames were sturdily fixed and had all edges smoothed off for the Health and Safety requirements of the patients and staff who were contact with them 24/7.

In total over 100 screens were produced and installed within a 4 week period. This involved long hours fabricating and on site installing whilst wearing full hospital PPE, as this was at the height of the Pandemic.

The screens were a success and we went on to produce many more for Gidden Place in other Hospitals, namely Haslemere and Milford as well as schools and Shopping Centres.
